Duingalerie Homburg

To revive the tradition of the painters Toorop and Mondrian in Zeeland, the “Long Island” of Europe is the aim of Duingalerie in the Dutch town of Domburg. Our endeavour was to catch the unique light of this country between the mouthes of the river Schelde. Low budget production meant considerably reduced equipment. Reduction, however, appealed to us greatly: Meanwhile it is a common fact that digital SLR cameras can produce HD videos. But can you use them to shoot quite “normally”? Yes, you can. After intensive conversion to HD-SDI and reasonable image control we faced the hurly-burly.

A DSLR with HD resolution, 35 mm lenses, the legendary Kinomatik Photorig, a set of film camera accessories, a cinestyle gamma curve. A small set of instruments and a big filter kit, great painters, a nice interview and the light of Walcheren: a film full of atmosphere that makes you long for more from Duingalerie in Domburg.
